Laura Dyott, LCSW

“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

Clients I See
I see adolescents, adults, couples, co-parenting, and families (Ages 3+)

Topics I Address

I work with a number of counseling topics, however specialize in coping with everyday life, career and relationship issues in a healthier way. I enjoy working with children and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, defiance, trauma and other behavioral concerns. I also enjoy working with caregivers on understanding behavior and processing their experience with their children.

My Thoughts about the Therapeutic Process

When individuals decide to utilize the therapeutic process, I feel that is important to create a non-judgmental environment for them. Specifically with children, I feel it is important for them to explore their feelings and thoughts in a trusting environment without negative repercussion for what they are experiencing. For adults, this environment allows for a trusting relationship to develop and an honest exploration in what has brought the individual into therapy.

My Professional Experience

Throughout my professional experience, I have worked in school settings, home and community settings, and residential settings. By far the most rewarding experience has been watching children, adolescents, and caregivers create awareness with their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to create growth and change in their lives.
