“Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we’ll ever do” ~Brene Brown
Topics I Address
I enjoy working with all counseling topics; however, I particularly like working with those individuals who are processing trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. I am passionate about providing empathy, understanding, and support to individuals and families who are struggling with problems. These issues do not define you and together we can work through them to find realistic solutions.
My Thoughts about the Therapeutic Process
I believe the therapeutic process is an experience that differs from person to person, family to family. Using an evidence based technique; we can come together and work through the problems you bring in to discuss. If you put in the time and are willing to dig deep, you will find yourself with a renewed sense of acceptance, hope, and healing.
My Professional Experience
One of my primary goals, since becoming a therapist, has been to create a safe therapeutic environment that promotes openness and hope. I have had the privilege of working in a variety of settings: schools, homes, communities, residential treatment facilities, and outpatient offices, with a variety of different clients. I worked for many years with clients who have undergone complex trauma, including physical and sexual abuse, traumatic grief, domestic violence, and community violence. My experiences have given me an appreciation for the struggles and successes people go through every day.
