Topics I Address
I have worked as a therapist in a number of settings and am training in working with many counseling topics, but specifically enjoy working in treating adjustment disorder, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, depression, suicidality, addiction issues, eating disorders, relationship challenges, and other psychological issues.
My Thoughts about the Therapeutic Process
My treatment approach includes mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques that encourage you to become aware of the power of your thoughts, the ways in which thoughts, behavior, and action are connected, and how you can create positive change. I believe that most people seek treatment because they feel overwhelmed. It is important to me that you develop a sense of mastery regarding your given situation, organizing problems into manageable subsets. My methods for helping my clients are nonintrusive and I encourage you to guide me as we share in your process of self-discovery and growth. The pace of the process s set by you and your goals are utmost in my approach to helping you to move through life’s challenges.

I instill in my clients a sense of confidence and support in their efforts to develop a plan for moving through their situation and offer a sense of safety and trust upon which to build a productive therapeutic relationship. I am an active participant in your treatment and I do this with a gentle touch, and the ability to give honest feedback that promotes healing and growth.
