“You are as powerful and strong as you allow yourself to be.” ~ Robyn Davidson
Topics I Address
My professional experience has allowed me to develop expertise with a wide variety of counseling topics. I especially enjoy working with clients experiencing stress around transitions, loss, chronic and acute health issues, aging, caregiving, end of life, grief, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. I enjoy working with children, adults and families, including blended families and those with co-parenting issues. I also have expertise working with processing trauma, including domestic violence and sexual assault.
My Thoughts on the Therapeutic Process
The foundation of my therapeutic approach is to be client-centered and approach therapy from a strengths-based perspective. Each child and adult coming to therapy is unique. My approach is empathetic, non-judgmental and collaborative – we will work together to establish your goals and a plan to achieve them. Each client I have worked with over the years has taught me that everyone is far more resilient than they realize, and that they contain more potential and strength than they imagine. Therapy does take courage and commitment, but it is a process in which you are not alone, and that can help you through difficulties, transitions and crisis.
My Professional Experience
I have over twenty years experience working with children, adults and families experiencing crisis, transition and loss. My experience comes from settings ranging from hospice and healthcare to family service agencies and domestic violence and sexual assault programs. My goal is always to approach each client as an individual, to listen, and to establish a safe place where clients can feel heard and begin to feel empowered to work towards their goals.
