“The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen.” ~ Rachel Naomi Remen
Topics I Address
I work with a number of counseling topics. My training and experience have given me the opportunity to work with many topics, and I am increasingly impressed by the value of mindfulness to ease many of our worries and much of our stress. The strength of our relationships often indicates the degree of life satisfaction, so I particularly enjoy meeting with individuals, couples, and families who desire closer interaction and better communication. Other issues bringing us together may include depression, anger, grief and loss, aging transitions, adolescent adjustment, and family conflict.
My Thoughts on the Therapeutic Process
Therapy begins with my acceptance, respect, and support for everyone from all walks of life. Recognizing the courage needed to meet with a therapist, I offer a safe place for you to talk about yourself, the changes you seek, and the successes you envision. Whatever brings you to therapy, we will work together to enhance your strengths as you create fulfillment in your present life.
My Professional Experience
For more than 30 years, I have worked with a diverse selection of children, youth, adults, and families in various child welfare and mental health settings, including schools, homes, courts, and community agencies. Everywhere I have been struck by the resilience of people in the face of overwhelming challenges and by the power of supportive relationships to effect positive change.
