Topics I Address
I am trained to work with a variety of issues through my work as a counselor. I particularly like working with those who want to learn healthy communication techniques in various types of relationships. I also enjoy working with grief, trauma recovery, anxiety, and depression. I tailor my approach to whomever I’m working with, but I find that mindfulness and relaxation exercises help people process difficult situations.
My Thoughts on the Therapeutic Process
I think it is incredibly important to allow yourself to open up. It is my goal to create a collaborative environment where we can come together to work through uncomfortable issues and find mindful solutions. I often say that if I did not believe change was possible, then I had made a wrong decision pursuing counseling as a career. It is a brave decision for someone to take the step to enter therapy and engage in potentially intense emotions, but it is also a very worthwhile endeavor to experience a full, enjoyable life.
My Professional Experience
I have had the enlightening experience of working in a variety of therapeutic settings including inpatient, outpatient, and group settings. I enjoy staying educated on beneficial techniques that can help within a counseling session. I focus on listening and observing in order to form a collaborative relationship where personal growth can happen. You are a unique person, and I believe that working together we can create a plan that will assist in making changes you would like to see in your life.
